Privacy Policy
Our policies keep your team, data, and end customers protected.

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how AutoPress LLC (“AutoPress,” “we,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit autopress.io, create an account, or use our managed WordPress hosting platform and related services (collectively, the “Services”). It also describes the choices available to you. By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and Contact Data: Name, business name, billing address, email address, phone number, role, and authentication credentials provided when you register or communicate with us.
- Transactional and Billing Data: Checkout session identifiers, payment method tokens, invoices, subscription selections, support entitlements, and tax IDs. Payments are processed through PCI-compliant third parties, and AutoPress never stores full payment card numbers or security codes—only the limited billing metadata necessary to reconcile your account.
- Service Usage Data: Log entries, IP addresses, device identifiers, browser type, time zone, feature usage, and diagnostics collected automatically to operate and secure the platform.
- Customer Content: WordPress files, databases, media uploads, and configuration data that you host with AutoPress. You control what Customer Content is uploaded, published, or deleted.
- Support and Communications: Information contained in support tickets, chat transcripts, emails, surveys, or feedback forms.
- Third-Party Data: Information provided by partners (e.g., domain registrars, analytics providers) when you connect external services or authorize data sharing.
3. How We Use Information
AutoPress uses the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including provisioning hosting environments, managing backups, monitoring performance, and delivering customer support. AutoPress personnel only access Customer Content when you explicitly authorize maintenance or remediation work, or when required to meet legal obligations.
- Process payments, detect fraudulent transactions, and enforce subscription terms.
- Develop new features, conduct research, and improve platform usability and reliability.
- Send transactional messages, security alerts, and administrative notices.
- Market relevant offerings, events, or educational content, subject to your communication preferences.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, property, and safety of AutoPress, our customers, and the public.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
When required by applicable law (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract when delivering the Services you requested.
- Legitimate interests in securing our platform, improving operations, and communicating with you about your account.
- Compliance with legal obligations, such as tax, accounting, and lawful disclosure requirements.
- Consent for marketing communications, cookies that are not strictly necessary, or when you ask us to connect certain third-party tools.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to remember preferences, authenticate sessions, measure site traffic, and diagnose performance issues. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Some features of the Services may not function properly without essential cookies. Where required, we provide consent tools for managing non-essential cookies.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
AutoPress does not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following situations:
- Service Providers: Trusted vendors who assist with infrastructure, customer support, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, or security. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the services they render to AutoPress.
- Partners and Integrations: When you enable optional integrations (e.g., domain registrars, CDN providers, analytics plug-ins), we share limited data necessary to connect those services.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of company assets, subject to reasonable safeguards.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm or investigate violations of our Terms of Service.
7. Customer Content Hosted on WordPress Sites
AutoPress acts primarily as a data processor for Customer Content hosted through the Services. You retain control over the WordPress sites and data you upload. We process Customer Content only as instructed by you and to provide the Services, and AutoPress personnel will access Customer Content solely (i) when you give explicit authorization for maintenance, migrations, or troubleshooting, or (ii) when otherwise required by law. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services and your instructions to AutoPress comply with applicable privacy laws, including providing end-user notices and obtaining necessary consents.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, fulfill contractual obligations, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you request deletion or cancel your account, we follow GDPR-aligned processes to permanently destroy Customer Data from active systems and backups as quickly as practicable, typically within thirty (30) days unless longer retention is required by law. Backup copies of Customer Content may persist for that limited retention window to support continuity and disaster recovery, after which they are securely destroyed or anonymized.
9. Security
AutoPress employs administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information within our control, including network segmentation, encryption in transit, role-based access controls, hardened cloud compute environments, and continuous monitoring of hosting infrastructure. No security measure is perfect; we encourage customers to implement strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and secure coding practices. If we become aware of a breach affecting your hosted environment, we will notify you consistent with applicable law and our incident response policy.
10. International Transfers
AutoPress may process and store information in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. When transferring personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful mechanisms. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to countries that may have data protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, or port your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You can manage many settings directly in the AutoPress dashboard or by contacting us at privacy@autopress.io. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding to a request. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the message.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, applicable law, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the dashboard, email, or other prominent notice prior to the change becoming effective. The “lastUpdated” date above indicates when this Policy was most recently revised.
